Winter Gardening Masterclass with Katie

It's winter and the soil is rich and ready for the new season's crop! Perfect time to plant some lettuce, and save some money! Come and learn what to plant and how from our Market Gardener Katie.

She'll take you through what vegetables are ready to sow now, how to plan your garden beds for the season, tips on companion planting for the cooler months and how to make the most of a small space. You'll spend some time learning how to make a productive space and then go out and get your hands dirty on the farm! Best come prepared for the weather.

Perth City Farm is a central urban farming and garden space supporting connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.

For this workshop you should wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothes. Bring gardening gloves if you like, as well as a water bottle. Masks are strongly recommended in all our indoor spaces to protect our community - let's make this the norm.
