Winter Weaving: School Holiday Workshop for Kids
Description
Looking for something to do these Winter school holidays? Come and join us for our second of two Winter workshops at ErinEarth this year. The kids will help collect firewood and start our group fire, then spend the morning harvesting lomandra grass and learning basic weaving skills using grass and recycled materials. We will be making a small coaster or mini-basket to take home, depending how the individual goes for time.
Children will have the opportunity to slow down and deepen their connection with the land around them through the day's simple and mindful activities.
This workshop is suited to kids who might happily focus for up to 20 minutes at a time and practice their fine motor skills. The session will be broken up with other mindfulness activities such as sit spots and morning tea. We recommend ages from 10-14 years old. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the staff at ErinEarth.
A note for parents:
Enclosed shoes are required.
Please notify us of any allergies.
If your child becomes unwell or is no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible, ideally with at least 12 hours’ notice.
As this is a free workshop with limited places, last‑minute cancellations and no‑shows prevent children on our waiting list from participating. To ensure fair access for all families, repeated no‑shows will affect your ability to secure places at future ErinEarth events.
If a spot becomes available, an ErinEarth staff member will call or email you, up to the day before to offer your child a spot if you are on the Waitlist.
