    Join Brisbane's weed expertย Kate Wall for an immersive experience to discoverย the hidden treasures of your winter garden - weeds. ย  Kate will take you on a "weed wander"ย around the inspiring Green Thumb Farm, identifying and discussing ways to use them to your advantage. ย 

    You will learnย you will learn to appreciate these ย "unwanted" plants in a whole new way. ย Kate will teach you herย simple two step processย to create your own healing skin balm from the winter weeds you harvest.

    What you will learn:ย ย 
    • Identify and learn edible and medicinal uses of common winter weeds
    • How to make your own deeply healing skin balm from common winter weedsย 
    • How to make a weed salve for insect bites

    What to bring:ย 
    • A small glass jar with a lid to take home your skin salve
    • Your favouriteย notebook &ย pen as you will want to recordย everything
    • Please wear closed shoes, and be prepared for walking on uneven ground around the farm
    • A hat, water bottle & sunscreen

      Suitable for beginners or experienced weed enthusiasts alike.ย

      Free onsite parking (Take the turn off fromย Mt Samson Rd, into Green Thumb Farm. Take the first turn to the left which leads you past a little red building (this is where you will meet Kate for the workshop)

      About Kate Wall:ย 

      Kate Wall is a gardening consultant based in Brisbane, who specialises in teaching how to garden in harmony with nature. Kate focuses on sustainable and eco friendly gardening techniques which are better for the environment but also SO much easier than traditional approaches. Kate has a background in environmental science and her passions have lead her into the field of professional gardening. Kate has written several gardening books and has received peer recognition and industry awards for her work in the field. Kate runs regular gardening workshops and is often speaking at various garden clubs and events.
