ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Janeyheart aka Hannah Jane singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist channels her dark yet light folk tales from a deep place of the heart. Drawing from old violin & vocal harmony, Hannah has been gracing stages far & wide since she was a young teen in the 90s either solo or with her bands Sweet Formidables, Golden Virtues, Le Fricken Hecks & Ghostboy with Golden Virtues. Hannah also has an extensive history of recording & collaboration projects that include Bob Weatherall, M.E. Baird, Leanne Tennant, Karl S. Williams, Ben Ely, Ofa Fanaika, Jackie Barnes, PaulieB & most recently playing the violinist role for Baz Luhrmann in ELVIS. Her songwriting is uncompromising, her voice conjures & consoles, & her stage presence is spellbinding. Janeyheart released her latest album in April 2024, recorded by Jamie Trevaskis.

M.E. Baird (Matthew Ede Baird) began his musical career in Melbourne as part of the inner city rock and post-punk scene before leaving Australia for the UK and Europe to expand upon his musical and art education. He returned home and relocated to Sydney in 2000 to pursue an academic career in art and design. In 2004, he returned to Melbourne and began writing songs and recording and has released five critically acclaimed solo albums. He has also shared the stage Roland S Howard, Spencer P Jones, Kim Salmon, Ed Keupper, Chris Wilson and many others. M.E. Baird has also contributed songs and composed original soundtrack work in film and television. His most recent work, a collaboration with producer/guitarist Jamie Trevaskis entitled 'Spinning Man' was released in 2023. Jamie Trevaskis is a stalwart of the Brisbane independent music scene. With a recording and producing career spanning more than two decades, his credits include artists such as Robert Forster, Colin Lilly, Hugo Race, Rob Snaski, Ben Salter, Sime Nugent, Leanne Tennant, Halfway, Mexico City, Ghostwoods, Karl S Williams, M.E. Baird and the list goes on. As a musician, songwriter, composer, guitarist and saw player with a highly unique approach to his instruments, Jamie has contributed to countless recordings His solo musical projects include the ephemeral It's Magnetic featuring Mia Goodwin on vocals and Ben Ely (Regurgitator) on Bass. His most recent solo project 'Crying' sees Jamie composing immersive and dreamlike soundscapes with spoken word.

Led by musician, composer and producer James Lees, the dreamlike, atmospheric, mostly instrumental music of Ghostwoods has been described as languorous, darkly cinematic, minimalist and spacious. Their spectral, jazz-inflected sound has been explored across several singles and debut album My Neon which was nominated for the 2023 Australian Music Prize. Their most recent releas, the Stars EP featured a collaboration with guest vocalist Mia Goodwin and tracks recorded live at iconic Brisbane venue The Zoo. In the live setting, the band is a 6-piece with an all-encompassing and immersive depth of sound moving between delicate minimalism and overwhelming ferocity. In 2024, Ghostwoods is developing new material in collaboration with guest vocalists/composers SS.Sebastian and Lucinda Shaw.
