  • A minimum upfront payment is required to secure your order. This includes a surcharge, a non-refundable cancellation fee, and a refundable deposit.

Event description

Join us every School Holidays for interactive and fun practical art workshops. The program is designed for children and their parents/guardians. 

Tuesday 5 July

10– 11.30am, Creative Art Play $10pp (3-5yrs for parents/guardians and child/children)

Join in to experiment and play with an abundance of art materials to entice your imagination! 

12.30– 2.30pm, Abstract Acrylic Painting $14pp (6-12yrs)

Inspired by Grace Burzese's exhibition, come and paint your very own masterpiece! Each participant will paint their own canvas. 

Wednesday 6 July

10– 11.30am, Drawing in the Gallery $10pp (3-5yrs, for parents/guardians and child/children)

Join us to be inspired by our current exhibitions, to draw and create your own work of art to take home. 

12.30– 2.30pm, Create a Fabric Canvas Artwork $14pp (6-12yrs)

Inspired by Julie Paterson's exhibition, we will be converting clothes into canvas. Bring in your old pieces of material or clothes to decorate your own work of art. 

Thursday 14 July

10 – 11.30am, DIY Art Props $10pp (0-5yrs, for parents/guardians and child/children)

Join us to make and build art props out of simple and imaginative art materials. We will be using these props in a new program launching in Term 3, designed especially for 0-5 years old and their parents/guardians. 

12.30 – 2.30pm
, Drawing Natural Objects & Zines $18pp (8-16yrs) *We have extended the age range 

Come and join artist, James Gulliver Hancock to draw natural objects and create your own zine. James will talk about different techniques, including abstracting natural elements to bring out new ways of seeing. Bring in your own small natural objects you have found in nature to draw from. 

Friday 15 July

10 – 11.30am, Fabric Adornment $14pp (6-12yrs)

Come and design your very own colourful textile patch to take home. We will be using fabric paint, textas and much more!

12.30 – 2.30pm Drawing on Repeat $18pp (8-16yrs) *We have extended the age range

Join artist, James Gulliver Hancock, as he introduces how to use repetition in drawing, to develop new skills and help you to see things differently. James will introduce techniques, such as masking, scale shifting and multiple drawing implements on the same page or object. Come and draw on repeat in a workshop dedicated to drawing! 

Important information for all workshops: 

All materials are provided for each workshop. 

Bring along a water bottle and snack. Parents and/or guardians are invited to join workshops for 3-5 years old program. Parents and or guardians must attend the program for 0-5 years old on Thursday 14 July, DIY Art Props.
