Event description

Declan Furber Gillick is an Arrernte playwright, artist, educator, performer and musician with Aboriginal and Irish-Anglo ancestry. His works include the multi-award winning play Bighouse Dreaming and Scar Trees, a theatre-as-education play commissioned by Ilbijerri Theatre Company. Declan has had prose, poetry and essays published by Affirm Press, Southerly, Centre For Indigenous Story and Red Room Poetry. He is currently working on a new play for Melbourne Theatre Company, where he is a resident writer in their Next Stage program.

Making his Tanswells debut as part of Winterwords, Declan will be combining spoken word and storytelling with bass guitar, loops, samples and other textures. Don't miss this special intimate event.

Tickets are $20 in advance or at the door, or $10 for concession. (Venue covers online booking fees.) No-one will be turned away for lack of funds.
