Winton Wetlands Site Viewing
Event description
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking submissions to this Invitation for Expressions of Interest for the Mokoan Hub located on the Winton Wetlands Crown land reserve. The Department is holding two site viewings for registered applicants. You must be a registered applicant to attend a site viewing.
Background
Winton Wetlands is the largest wetland restoration project in the Southern hemisphere. Winton Wetlands covers 8,750 hectares of Crown land and is located approximately 7.5 kilometres north-east of Benalla in the locality of Chesney Vale. The Site is located on Yorta Yorta Country being the traditional lands of the Yorta Yorta people. Land management responsibilities will revert to the DEECA on 1 August 2025. DEECA is now seeking interest from community organisations and businesses for the management of the Mokoan Hub located on the Reserve.
The Mokoan Hub consists of:
· Café and function facilities with a commercial kitchen and café area with an additional large room that can be divided from the café that can host 60-80 people. Suitable for seating 60 guests for meals, 60 theatre style or 80 standing for finger food or theatre style set up.
· Office area with two offices and board room style meeting room for up to eight people
· Children’s playground that features a 40-metre flying fox and natural playground area
