Event description

Reconnecting with our true Nature: Bhutan's GNH - Transforming Self, Transforming Systems

  • What would it take to create a world where economic systems are designed to support the wellbeing of all life?
  • What does our inner state of mind have to do with the wider systems we create?
  • How can we work towards deep transformation (without burning out in the process)?

Join us for this interactive exploration at the interface of inner wellbeing & Wellbeing Economics, led by Dr. Julia Kim.

In this workshop we will take a deep dive into Bhutan’s GNH (Gross National Happiness) model and other wellbeing economy approaches. Participants will assess their own individual and community well-being through a personal GNH Wheel and Wellbeing Ecosystems Map, engage in practices that cultivate inner peace and leadership, and experiment with how the creative play of music, meditation, and improvisation can inspire and inform the challenging work of transforming both self and systems.

Through this unique blend of personal reflection and collective learning, we will envision practical steps for integrating the principles of GNH into our lives and communities, with a focus on how these practices can lead to meaningful, sustainable change.

More about your facilitator, Dr. Julia Kim: Julia is a Global Wellbeing and Wellbeing Economics expert, program facilitator, and researcher exploring the terrain connecting inner transformation and broader systems change. She is an Executive Committee Member of the Club of Rome, and former Program Director of the GNH Centre Bhutan. In these capacities, she has been integrating contemplative practice and improvised sound (electric violin) into programs focusing on leadership, wellbeing and wellbeing economics.
