Wisdom for Wellbeing

We face many profound emotional, psychological, and social challenges to our wellbeing in our day to day lives. Our experienced mental health experts will dive into the Bible’s wisdom on how we can best navigate our way through these difficulties, towards robust mental health.

This is a free event and morning tea and lunch are provided. Registrations close midnight, Friday May 10th.

Our Speakers

Nicky Chiswell
Nicky Chiswell is a Melbourne-based Christian psychologist and singer/songwriter. She is well known for some of her congregational songs. She also writes and performs her own solo material. Nicky works in private practice in Hawthorn, Melbourne. She is married to Graeme and attends City on a Hill Church in Melbourne where Graeme is a discipleship minister.

Dr Rod Smith
Rod Smith trained in Medicine in Perth and graduated 1980. He moved to Victoria in 1982 to work in Geriatric Medicine. Rod started Psychiatry training in 1989 at the Austin Hospital finished in 1994 becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in that year. He initially worked in Old Age Psychiatry before moving to General Adult Psychiatry fulltime in 1996. He and his wife attend an Anglican church and have two adult sons.

Chad Loftis
Chad Loftis is a Narrative Therapist with 18 years experience working as a counsellor and educator for individuals, families and couples. He and his family recently returned from northern Thailand where he had been serving for over ten years as a therapist and services director at The Well International. These days, Chad works with clients out of his home in the west and serves as the head of counselling at Eastern College Australia. His wife, Erika, is an artist who also works with autistic children. They have four irrepressibly creative kids and a cat. Chad loves helping people discover new or forgotten ways of understanding their lives that open up beautiful possibilities.
