With One Voice’s Community Choir Training Academy

Creativity Australia invites you to a two-day immersive training academy aimed at increasing your skills, confidence and professional network in facilitating community choirs!. 

Whether you're a choir conductor, music educator, passionate singer or community member looking to start a singing group, this program offers a hands-on opportunity to build skills, share ideas, explore rehearsal techniques and connect with a national community of like-minded choir facilitators. 

Creativity Australia is the team behind the nationwide With One Voice choir program with 26 choirs across Australia and a proven approach to creating inclusive, diverse, and joyful sessions. Training Academy is our annual wisdom-sharing, for facilitators to learn from one of Australia’s leading community choir organisations and set goals for your choir’s year ahead. 

You’ll be joined by our With One Voice choir conductors, and Community Music Victoria representatives, who will share their tips and tricks for leading inclusive, joyful community singing groups, alongside a range of specialist workshops and interactive masterclass sessions. This year, we are introducing a self-selected “Beginner” and “Advanced” stream to our program, to cater to the different needs of our learners.

• Adapting teaching for different experience levels

• Creating inclusive choir cultures

• Beginner and Advanced Masterclass sessions: receive real-time feedback or observe others leading songs

• Using rounds and simple songs to sing in harmony

• Play-based techniques to encourage joy and vocal expression

• Choosing repertoire and arranging music for your group 

• Community care, responding to our members needs and distress

• Practitioner wellbeing - Conductor Self-care, boundaries and building sustainable practice
