Course Description

We are living through a time when personal, political, and ecological shifts are constant. Our bodies feel these pressures immediately, through overwhelm, vigilance, or the quiet sense that something familiar is dissolving. Even before we can name what is changing, our physical, emotional, and ancestral bodies respond to the unknown. Much of this response comes from living in a society that fears change and forgets the wisdom carried in migrations, tides, seasons, and the long lineage of human experience. This experiential course invites a different way of relating to these moments. Instead of meeting change with urgency or numbing, we explore how to navigate it through embodied skill, collective inquiry, and renewed relationship with land and ecological rhythms.

Within the Threshold is a three-month program for individuals and movement-rooted people who want to navigate change through the body and in deeper relationship with land, grief, and community. We begin from the understanding that grief and change are inseparable companions, that land carries vital teachings about adaptation often obscured by colonial rhythms, and that poetic inquiry and somatic practice can help us cultivate the steadiness and connection needed to meet this era of polycrisis with clarity and care. Rooted in ecological rhythms and collective inquiry, this program supports participants in developing embodied capacity that honors both personal and communal transformation.

Throughout this three-month immersion, we gather each New and Full Moon for embodied practice, land-attuned inquiry, and creative collective conversation. Lunar and ecological rhythms guide the pace of our work, helping us step out of urgency and build embodied capacity for navigating change in complex and shifting times. The structure is intentionally steady and relational, supporting meaningful learning and connection, and offering a sustainable practice that participants can continue long after the course concludes.

Course Structure 

Throughout our three months together, we move in a steady rhythm that supports embodied learning, ecological connection, and collective inquiry. The structure is spacious enough to meet a range of capacities while still offering a clear arc for shared practice and reflection.

• New & Full Moon Gatherings
  We meet twice each moon cycle for embodied practice, land-attuned inquiry, and collective conversation.

• Opening & Closing Ceremonies
  We begin and end our time together with grounding rituals that mark our entry and exit from this shared threshold.

• Weekly Land-Based Practice
  Participants engage with a chosen place on the land each week through guided somatic invitations, creative prompts, and reflective exercises.

• Concepts We Will Play With
  Throughout the course we explore ideas such as erosion, entanglement, magic in germination, memory and migration, tides and other movements of water, and hopeful decay—each offering a lens on grief, change, and ecological wisdom.

• 1:1 Support Sessions
  Optional support spaces are offered throughout the program for questions, grounding, and deepening into the practices.

• Optional Small Group Connections
  Participants may join small peer groups for shared reflection and relational support.

• Final Integration Session
  After the course concludes, we gather once more to reflect, integrate, and explore how to carry the practices forward into our daily lives and communities.

• A post-course integration gathering to reflect on the arc of the program and explore how to continue the practice beyond our time together.
