Event description

After a year of travelling internationally and nationally to celebrate his 50th year as a published writer, Witi Ihimaera returns to Wellington for his final event of the year: The annual NZSA Janet Frame Memorial Lecture: Wetewete Te Wheke! Release The Kraken! Opening the Gates on Literature in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Matua Witi’s lecture will be followed by brief readings from four emerging writers, and then a supper and book signing, serenaded by live opera. 

Presented in partnership with New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc and National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātaruanga o Aotearoa.
