TechXchange: Cyber Security | AI and Machine Learning attacks and controls

When two power houses collide - Women in Technology WA and Australian Women in Security Network have joined forces to bring you an insightful TechXchange exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity - including a live demo of using AI as a cyber control.

With AI attacks on the rise, the need to use AI for defence capabilities is increasing. In this session, we will discuss cyber risks and the use of AI and Machine Learning in both attacks and controls.

Biljana:

Biljana currently works as a cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance consultant in the critical infrastructure industry. She has a legal background with over 12 years of experience practising commercial law before pivoting into cybersecurity by completing a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, specialising in governance. She is passionate about all things technology & cybersecurity. She regularly volunteers her time to promote diversity in cybersecurity by mentoring and being a chapter lead for the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN).

Silvana:

Silvana honed her cyber skills in critical infrastructure, transitioned to financial services and will soon head back to critical infrastructure where she feels most 'at home' keeping control systems on-line.

Vannessa:

Vannessa Van Beek is a Cyber Security Executive with deep industry experience. Vannessa has been a trailblazer in the cybersecurity sector in organisations such as Telstra, DXC, NBN, Kinetic IT and now Avanade – an Accenture and Microsoft Company. Vannessa advocates for security within the organisations she works in and also in the broader industry. Throughout her career, Vannessa has drawn on her experience in law, business, and psychology to inspire and support cybersecurity teams to achieve excellence through innovation and resilience. She has championed women through mentoring with ASWN and empowered women through the Women Rising Program. She received the Outstanding Leadership Award WiTWA Tech [+] Awards 2022 for excellence in leadership, communication and strategic vision.
