WiTWA - DEI Masterclass - Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Price $60 AUD + BF + GST Get tickets

Event description

Join facilitator Rose Paley and guest speakers Amber Anthony and Emily Kendall as they provide a diversity, equity and inclusion masterclass on neurodiversity in the workplace.

We will explore the value of neurodiversity in the workplace, inclusive hiring practices, understanding neurodiverse peers, creating safe spaces, having difficult conversations, stories of success through neuro-affirming approaches, and the role of neurotypical allies.

As WiTWAs mission states, "If you can see her, you can be her", and as the Neurospicy Collective says, #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs. Hear from an inspiring line up of women with lived experiences on this topic, about the hard won lessons (what works and what doesn’t) and what opportunities we have to drive change as individuals and organisations.

Get in quick as tickets are limited!

Hear from our amazing lineup of speakers:

Rose Paley - Neurodiversity Advocate

Rose (she/her) is the Co-Chair of NeuroBHP and a member of the Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance Advisory Board at Curtin University and has always been passionate about leveraging her platform to drive positive impact and advocate for sufficient workplace support. In her previous role at Deloitte, Rose used her discretionary time to launch and lead a National Neurodiversity Initiative, which became a community of 150 volunteers supporting neurodiverse employees. When she moved to BHP, she mentored the Chair of NeuroBHP, before being appointed into the role herself.

Amber Anthony - Proudly Autistic Female Leader

Amber (she/her) leads Neurospicy Collective, a group making impactful change by placing people at the core of inclusion. Amber’s expertise in neuro-accessibility, neuro-inclusivity, coupled with a specialisation in behavior change, empowers organisations to drive meaningful action through authentic conversations. Combining her lived experience of neurological disability, a professional background within clinical settings and a neuro-affirming approach (#NothingAboutUsWithoutUs), to create places where everyone can thrive. Let her show you how to fix the environment, not the flower!

Emily Kendall - Neurodiversity Engineer

Emily (she/her) is a qualified Chemical Engineer with 10+ years in the resources industry and currently leads Decarbonization concept studies at an ASX200 company. Emily knows firsthand what it feels like to be misunderstood, mismanaged, and undervalued as a neurodivergent individual attempting to navigate the neurotypical corporate world. Emily is a passionate advocate for her community and broader neuro-inclusion in the workplace. She actively contributes as the Neurodiverse Representative on the National Association of Women in Operations (NAWOs), Intersectionality Advisory Committee (IAC), with Engineers Australia Inclusion and Diversity WA Committee, and as an advisor on the Inclusion and Accessibility Committee for the City of Perth.
