Join Us for a Unique Outback Experience at Kinchega National Park!
Western Landcare NSW is excited to bring the landcaring community together for a FREE event in the historic Kinchega National Park. Connect and converse about Biodiversity & Conservation in the Western Region over two days of community conversation.
This family-friendly weekend camp welcomes landholders, land managers, and landcarers eager to engage in meaningful conversations around the campfire and beyond.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and share in a truly unique setting.
Arrival:
Friday 13th June
Set up your campsite anywhere around the beautiful Kinchega National Park and ease into a relaxing start to the Western Landcare NSW Community Conservation Conversation Camp. The program will kick off near the historic Kinchega Shearers’ Quarters.
Program:
Saturday 14th June
(Starting at 9:00am)
- All day bush tucker by David Doyle’s Wontanella Catering (must register by Fri May 30).
- Introductions & camp program schedule.
- Junior Landcare games and activities for the kids.
- Guest speaker - Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT).
- Q&A forum around the campfire – Biodiversity & Conservation: What’s happening around the Far West?
- Kinchega National Park tour with David Doyle and/or Ranger Jade Halls (registration required).
- Free time with the family to explore.
- Outdoor screening – ABC’s 'The Kimberley'.
- Live music by local band, Fire Bucket.
Sunday 15th June
(9:00am - 3:00pm)
- More bush tucker by Wontanella Catering.
- Junior Landcare games and activities for the kids.
- Trivia Q&A around the campfire – Conservation & Sustainable Agriculture.
- Guest speakers including David Doyle, Barbara Quayle and Tannya Quayle.
- Open mic – Bush poetry, stories, songs and more...
We’re excited to bring the landcaring community together for this special event at Kinchega National Park. Here’s your opportunity to ask questions, share perceptions and experiences around natural resource management (NRM) locally, while learning about the 30x30 conservation conversations happening around the world and in our own backyard.
What you need to do:
- REGISTER NOW to secure your place for this event at Kinchega National Park.
- Book your campground at: https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/kinchega-national-park or other camping locations and accommodation at Menindee. BYO camping gear – caravans/camp trailers welcome.
- Pack a torch, hat, water bottle, gloves, warm clothing, bedding and please remember your camp chair!
- Bring food, snacks and drinking water – bush tucker catering available (must register by Fri May 30th).
- Let us know if you’d like help with travel expenses – fuel vouchers available.
- There are also limited bunk beds available in the Shearers’s Quarters (6 beds per hut). Please enquire with us regarding availability and bookings if you wish to secure Shearers Quarters accommodation.
- Sorry, no dogs permitted in NSW National Parks.
