We’d like to welcome you to our second event in a series of online events for 2026, centred around our three core values: Equity, Belonging, and Self determination.

This event will be about “Belonging”. We aim to explore the aspect of being “othered” and how we in Aotearoa find a way to belong vs navigating the feeling of not belonging.

To ensure safe and open dialogue, this event is for People of Colour who identify as women or other marginalised genders. We love our allies and know that our allies will understand that intersectionality of identities is complex and when race and genders are intersecting, it is important that the safe space is protected for those with lived experience.

The gathering will not be recorded. For sharing reflections and stories in breakout rooms, we do ask that everyone who attends turn their cameras on. We encourage participation by sharing not just observing - even if it is just a connection or resonance with one or two other people. It is in these moments of hearing others' stories, that can make us feel less alone and that we belong to a community.

For any of the personal stories that you will hear at this event, whether that is from another member in the hui or from one of the panel speakers, we ask for confidentiality and not share them beyond the event without their explicit permission and of course for your own stories, you can share them with who you feel comfortable with.
