Wollert Pollinator Count
Description
Join us in Wollert for the Australian Pollinator Count, a national citizen science event that helps researchers better understand and protect Australia's vital pollinators. During Australian Pollinator Week (8–16 November), people across the country will be observing flowers, identifying pollinators, and contributing valuable data for scientific research.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast, gardener, student, or complete beginner, this is a fun and accessible way to get involved in local conservation while discovering the incredible diversity of insects in your own neighbourhood.
Special Guest: Dr Luis Mata
We're excited to be joined by Dr Luis Mata, an ecologist, entomologist and science communicator with a passion for insects and urban biodiversity. Luis believes that insects, whether as individuals or as part of complex super-organisms, are fascinating, valuable and beautiful forms of life.
A keen nature photographer, Luis uses photography as a way to connect art and science, helping people see and appreciate the natural world through a different lens. He is the Co-Founder and Head of Research & Operations at Lookfar Research, where he develops innovative solutions that benefit people and the interconnected network of microbes, fungi, plants and animals that share our planet.
