Discover the Woodland Birds of Wollert
Event description
Join DCMC and bird photographer Jonathan Tickner (a.k.a. merri_creek_wanderer) on this FREE guided bird walk through the northern Grassy Eucalypt Woodlands of the Darebin Creek.
Come along and explore the birdlife in this northern stretch of the Creek in Wollert, then stick around afterwards for a cuppa and a chat!
We'll also be recording the species we see on eBird as part of ongoing bird surveys in the area, helping to track changes in bird populations over time. If we're lucky, we might spot a Wedge-tailed Eagle, Brown Goshawk, Rufous Whistler or Rufous Songlark!
Whether you're new to birdwatching or have been doing it for years, all levels of experience are welcome.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them (limited binoculars will be available to borrow on the day).
This activity involves over an hour of walking on uneven surfaces. Check the Accessibility info for directions and access details.
Bookings required.
This event is funded by the Victorian Government’s Green Links program and the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of the Darebin Creek Management Committee and City of Whittlesea.
