What is Voices for Power?

Voices For Power is a project by Sydney Community Forum - a local not-for-profit organisation- which brings diverse community members together to build collective power and organise for clean and affordable energy solutions. The Voices for Power Project has listened to hundreds of stories from communities about their struggles with the energy system. Through deep listening and engagement with Cultural and Linguistically Diverse communities, they found that communities prefer to receive information face to face, in their own language, from community leaders that they trust.

Their vision is to train a cohort of Community Energy Champions who can support and empower people in our communities to take charge of their energy and feel confident to participate in the energy system.

What is Electrify Wolli Creek?

Electrify Wolli Creek is a new community initiative that was set up by a group of local residents, to help people living in Wolli Creek get access to cleaner, cheaper energy. Their vision is for their local community to feel empowered with better knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact them, and to find the solutions that will help make their homes healthier, more sustainable, and more energy efficient so that they can save on bills.

Electrify Wolli Creek is supported by Solar Citizens, a not-for-profit organisation who are working hard to ensure all Australians can access renewable energy - including solar, batteries, efficient appliances and affordable clean transport.
