Wombat Carer Course for Beginners
Event description
Any prospective wombat carers need to complete a wombat carer course for licensing purposes, and to be a good carer for the wombats entrusted to you.
This is a beginner course and will give you a good overview of:
- Basic wombat rescues
- Equipment for rescues
- Assessment of rescued wombat
- Equipment/infrastructure needed as carer
- Feeding a wombat
- General care, housing and husbandry
- Diseases / illnesses wombats may suffer (including mange) from and
- General problems
This training workshop is jointly offered by NARG (Native Animal Rescue Group) and Wombat Rescue and presented by Bill and Les Waterhouse
To be a carer in NSW and ACT, you need to be affiliated or a member of a licensed wildlife group in your area. This course is aimed at anyone in any state who needs wombat training to join a shelter or wildlife group and would like to become a carer.
