Wombat Pinkie Course
Event description
Overview
Any prospective wombat carers need to complete a wombat carer course for licensing purposes, and to be a good carer for the wombats entrusted to you.
But once you start gaining experience, you might want to start caring for the very little ones, pinkies (unfurred marsupials).
This is a more advanced course than the Wombat Care course for beginners and it's recommended that you do both. The pinkie course will cover:
- What equipment you will need to raise a pinkie
- How to do a pinkie rescue
- Assessment of a pinkie after rescue
- Equipment/infrastructure needed as carer
- Feeding a pinkie
- What pinkies need from you to thrive
- General care, housing and husbandry and hygiene
- Diseases / illnesses pinkies may suffer from and
- General problems
This training workshop is jointly offered by NARG (Native Animal Rescue Group) and Wombat Rescue and presented by Bill and Les Waterhouse
To be a carer in NSW and ACT, you need to be affiliated or a member of a licensed wildlife group in your area. This course is aimed at anyone in any state who needs wombat pinkie training to progress their journey as carer.
