Overview

Any prospective wombat carers need to complete a wombat carer course for licensing purposes, and to be a good carer for the wombats entrusted to you.

But once you start gaining experience, you might want to start caring for the very little ones, pinkies (unfurred marsupials).

This is a more advanced course than the Wombat Care course for beginners and it's recommended that you do both. The pinkie course will cover:

What equipment you will need to raise a pinkie
How to do a pinkie rescue
Assessment of a pinkie after rescue
Equipment/infrastructure needed as carer
Feeding a pinkie
What pinkies need from you to thrive
General care, housing and husbandry and hygiene
Diseases / illnesses pinkies may suffer from and
General problems

This training workshop is jointly offered by NARG (Native Animal Rescue Group) and Wombat Rescue and presented by Bill and Les Waterhouse

To be a carer in NSW and ACT, you need to be affiliated or a member of a licensed wildlife group in your area. This course is aimed at anyone in any state who needs wombat pinkie training to progress their journey as carer.
