About the Forum

The National AI Week Forum 2025 brings together leaders from government, healthcare, academia, and industry to explore how trusted AI can enhance productivity, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen Australia’s innovation economy.

The day opens with Helen McHugh, President of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), presenting “Building a Trusted AI Future for Australia”. This is followed by Dr Cathy Foley, Former Chief Scientist of CSIRO, with a keynote on “AI-Powered Productivity in a Digital Era.”

Later, Rita Arrigo, Strategic Engagement Manager at NAIC, will discuss how Australia is adopting AI to build a more inclusive, innovation-driven economy.

Dr Ian Oppermann will explore real-world applications of AI that streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and unlock new levels of creativity and efficiency.

Engaging panel discussions throughout the day will cover topics including:

• AI in Healthcare

• Data Privacy & Responsible AI

• Smarter Marketing Workflows

• The Future of Work (Career Fair)

• Responsible AI in Practice – Embedding ethics and transparency in AI, led by WAI AUS’s Jose Meza and Angelica Chowdhury

Each session features leading voices from Australia’s health, technology, and education sectors.
