Women in Audio Night

Collarts Women in Audio Event:

Whether you are currently navigating your audio engineering/music production degree or you’ve already taken your first steps into the audio world, this event is for you. We are creating a dedicated safe space for women and non-binary individuals to come together, talk audio, production and support one another in an industry where we are often the minority.

Hosted by Melbourne based audio engineer and university audio lecturer, Victoria Mangano, here is what is included:

• This is a completely free event! We kindly ask that you still “purchase” a free ticket to help us gauge numbers.

• You do not need to be a Collarts student to attend. We welcome all students and budding engineers/producers from the wider community.

• We’re keeping it low-pressure with free pizza and refreshments.

• Hear from guest speakers who have been in your shoes.

• Meet like-minded women and build a community that lasts beyond the evening.

• Giveaways & freebies.

🎤The "Guest Speaker" Segment:

To start the night, we will be hosting a relaxed podcast style QnA with a special guest who is actively working in the industry. Our guest speaker will be announced shortly…

🎧The "Show & Tell" Segment:

Towards the end of the evening, we will be hosting a special segment for those who want to share their work. If you have a project that is completed or near completion, we invite you to present it! A song you wrote and produced? A short film you did the Sound Design for? Releasing your first single? Recorded and mixed a local band? Email Victoria at vmangano@collarts.edu.au

This is a unique opportunity to screen your work in a supportive environment. Whether you’re looking for constructive feedback from peers or simply want to celebrate a win by showing off what you’ve built, the floor is yours.
