Description

MTPConnect is delighted to be hosting the 4th ‘Women in Life Sciences Leadership’ event in San Diego, proudly sponsored by Moderna during BIO 2026. Co-hosts MTPConnect’s Dana Bell and US-based Dr Kate Liebelt, life sciences executive and angel investor, are bringing you something different this year.

Not another networking event. Not a panel.

A network system activation!

In biotech, your network isn’t social — it’s strategic infrastructure - and most people aren’t designing it.

This event is for women in life sciences ready to move beyond connection — and start shaping the systems that drive capital, partnerships and opportunity.

Curated. Intentional. Interactive. High-impact.

AUScelerate (formerly MTPConnect) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established in 2015 to champion Australia’s life sciences sector by:

· Backing start-ups, entrepreneurs and SMEs to bring new medical products from research labs to the market

· Delivering innovation programs for state and federal governments

· Helping Australian companies make international connections and access global markets through trade missions and strategic collaborations.

AUScelerate forges stronger connections between research and industry to help maximize opportunities for Australians to not only make scientific and technological breakthroughs, but to see them developed through the proof-of-concept stage and successfully translated and commercialised.

We achieve these outcomes with a focus on improving collaborations and commercialisation, funding cutting-edge innovations, improving management and workforce skills, optimising the regulatory and policy environment and improving access to global supply chains and strategic international markets.

AUScelerate also operates accelerator programs to support the development of cutting-edge medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovations, with more than A$166 million invested so far in 213 projects.

AUScelerate is guided by an experienced Board of Directors, managed by a professional executive team with expert staff based around Australia. The national team brings experiences in industry, technology transfer, medical device/pharmaceutical commercialisation, venture capital, project management, clinical trials, international trade and investment, government and the public sector, governance, policy and media and communications.
