Women Lawyers of WA is excited to invite you to our first monthly mentoring event, generously hosted by Elite Family Law at Pobbles Café in Subiaco.

This relaxed after-work gathering is a great opportunity to connect with women lawyers across all stages of their careers, build meaningful relationships, and learn more about how the WLWA Mentoring Program supports growth, leadership and wellbeing in the legal profession.

Our August theme is “Backing Yourself.”

We are delighted that Elvira Mustafa, Director and Senior Family Lawyer at Elite Family Law, will share her personal reflections on how backing yourself in difficult cases, career decisions or personal turning points can empower women at all levels of practice.

Join us to meet potential mentors and mentees, enjoy light refreshments kindly provided by Elite Family Law, and be part of a movement focused on connection, support, and empowerment.

About the WLWA Mentoring Program

The WLWA Mentoring Program was developed to address the real challenges facing women in the legal profession, including high attrition in the early years of practice, underrepresentation in senior roles, and the impact of career breaks.

We are looking to establish mentoring relationships that go beyond the ups and downs of the law to address the rollercoaster of chaos that is life.

What do you do when you want to pivot practice areas? Who can you turn to if you want to start a firm or go to the bar? What do you do when you've missed a promotion? What do you do when you're promoted? Who can you ask if you want to find a job that'll match your other caring, family or personal responsibilities?

Whether you want to pivot practice areas, start a firm, explore the bar, bounce back from missed promotions, or juggle career with caring responsibilities, this is the community to help you stay, grow, and thrive in the profession.
