Event description

Why do women still get one-size-fits-all advice about their health, fitness, and nutrition — when our bodies are anything but the same?

At Women of Pōneke, we believe it’s time to change that narrative.

That’s why we’re beyond excited to welcome Dr Stacy Sims as our special guest for our next event on 7 August 2025.

If you haven’t yet heard of Dr Sims, let us introduce you.

Her catch cry is – “Women are not small men”. She’s a globally recognised expert in women’s health, exercise physiology, and nutrition science. A trailblazer. A truth-teller. And a powerful advocate for female-specific research.

You may have come across her on some of the biggest platforms in the world — from The Diary of a CEO to The Mel Robbins Podcast to The Huberman Lab — where millions have heard her call out the science that’s long ignored women, and offer empowering, evidence-based strategies in its place.

Dr Sims is not selling products or pushing gimmicks. She’s sharing real, unbiased science to help women understand their bodies and make confident, informed decisions — at any age or stage of life.

Here are just a few of the questions she helps women answer:

  • Why do men and women respond so differently to the same training and nutrition plans?

  • Why is "eat less, exercise more" outdated — and even harmful — advice for women?

  • What can I do to feel stronger, clearer and more in control through the hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause?

  • How do I optimise my energy, performance and recovery as a woman?

Dr Sims brings a rare combination of rigorous science, lived experience (as a former elite athlete), and a deep passion for supporting the health of women and girls.

Her mission is clear: Helping you understand your unique physiology and feel empowered as active, confident women.

This event will be an eye-opener. A myth-buster. A permission-giver.

And, most of all, a space for women of all ages to feel seen, heard and empowered.
