The Home Maintenance series takes you through all the basic tools and skills for simple home
maintenance jobs. You’ll learn about suitable hardware, tools and techniques, along with tips and
tricks for taking care of all those small jobs around the home you’d like to do yourself.

This short course introduces you to working with plasterboard and repairing cracks and holes in plastered surfaces.

It covers getting to know the tools, hardware and materials for plasterboard installation, and hole
and crack repair, including:
 Confidence in your ability to use the following tools correctly and safely –drill drivers,
ladders, hand saws, plastering trowels, scrapers, putty knives and broadknives, sanders, and
measuring equipment.
 Learning to measure, cut and install plasterboard panels
 Learn and practice setting and sanding plasterboard joints
 Learn how to cut and install cornicing
 Learn how to patch a hole and repair cracks in plasterboard and plaster finished brick walls
 Familiarise yourself with the home maintenance environment, practices and health and
safety

What you bring: Yourself. All tools and materials are included in the registration. 

What to wear: suitable clothing to work in, and sturdy closed shoes. We provide safety glasses, dust
masks and ear protection.

Morning tea is provided.

Cancellation/Refund policy
At WOTT we keep our classes small to optimise your learning experience.  Any cancellations or transfers, therefore, have an effect on our ability to deliver these classes (and may even result in the cancellation of the course). Please consider your dates carefully prior to booking.

Our cancellation and refund/transfer policy is as follows:

- cancellation up to 7 days prior to the course: full refund or transfer to a new course date.
- cancellation up to 3 days prior to the course: 50% refund/no transfer.  You will then be required to rebook into the preferred course.
- cancellation less than 24h prior to the course: no refund or transfer available.

This workshop is a safe space. Neurodiversity, the queer community, differently abled and minority groups are welcome.

Our workshop is located in Beaconsfield/Walyalup on Wadjuk Noongar Country. We pay our respect to elders past, present and emerging.
