Join us on Wednesday, September 13, as we officially start our Women Power: 1M Transforming My Home Program (via Zoom)! Come with us as we explore the small and large changes you can make in your home to help you move beyond fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas).

Session 1: Getting In Touch With Our Household Energy Use
In this first session we will be focusing on first steps to think about when electrifying our homes, a checklist of actions we can put on our electrification wish list, some of the easiest and most effective changes we can make early on, and how we can save the first 5% off our energy consumption and bills.

This is the start of the program, every month we will be doing a Zoom call to address another stage of our Electrification journey.

Whether you are a homeowner or renter or any other lifestyle circumstance, over the next 12 months, we will be helping you look for the cost savings, emissions savings, energy savings and health benefits and explore the ways to move away from gas (completely) over the next few years.

AT THE EVENT:

Natalie Isaacs, Author and Founder of 1 Million Women, will provide a brief recap of our last Women Power Zoom event for anyone who missed out, she will outline the direction in which our electrification program will be heading over the next 12 months, how this will be carried out, and the topics we will be looking at.

You’ll also hear from Beth Mitchell, Head of Engagement from Beyond Zero Emissions - the knowledge experts behind this program. Beth is going to show us all how to save our first 5% of emissions coming from our home. She has already transformed 2 homes and has a wealth of knowledge to share.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS PROGRAM?

Reducing our global emissions needs the biggest collaborative effort from every sector of society - the energy we use and save in our households plays a huge role. (In Australia alone a whopping 20% of our overall emissions come from the energy powering our homes and cars.)

Many of us will make big decisions over the next few years and with our power bills and rising energy costs being more energy efficient is a huge part of this transformation too.

We know it’s not all easy! But we want to understand the challenges and the solutions to getting off gas and how we can create energy efficient, comfortable homes that don’t rely on fossil fuels.

From this program we are going to create a blue print on what we learn over the next 12 months - the stories from women for women.
