Women ROCK! : A Science Week family fun day
Event description
Get ready to dig into a day of dino-mite fun at this year's National Science Week family fun day at VPCC! This year, we're traveling to the prehistoric age of dinosaurs, fossils, and the GROUNDbreaking discoveries made by ROCKstar women scientists.
Kids and families will have the chance to get hands on with real-life fossils, practice their palaeontology skills in dinosaur digs, plus hands on experiments and talks from scientists and inspirational Women leaders in their fields.
Run by VPCC and the experts from the Curtin University Outreach crew.
Event Highlights:
- Fossil Fun: See up close REAL fossils from the crater of the asteroid strike that wiped out the dinosaurs
- Dinosaur Digs: Put on your palaeontologist hat to dig for ancient treasures in our fossil dig
- Chemistry experiments: Watch science come alive by making "Dinosaur Toothpaste" and "Dinosaur Eggs"
- Women in Science: Meet real scientists from Curtin University and hear about their latest discoveries.
- Quizzes and Games: Test your knowledge and win awesome prizes!
