This month in circle we’ll be exploring the practice of Loving-Kindness—a simple yet powerful practice that encourages compassion, connection, and healing. Loving-kindness is the act of wishing happiness, well-being, and ease not just for ourselves but for others as well. It’s a practice of opening the heart, sending love first to ourselves, and then radiating it outward to those around us.

We invite you to bring this energy with you as you step into the circle and carry it into your life. To help you begin contemplating loving-kindness, here are a few prompts to reflect on before we gather:

Begin to notice the way you speak to yourself. Is it filled with compassion, or are there moments of self-criticism? How might you gently shift those thoughts toward kindness?
In your day-to-day interactions, whether with a stranger, a colleague, or a loved one, can you offer a simple smile, kind word, or a gesture of empathy? Notice how these small acts of kindness impact both you and the people around you.
Before joining the circle, take a moment to reflect on the other people who will be present. Everyone carries their own experiences, struggles, and joys. How can you open your heart to them, honoring their journey with kindness and acceptance?

An altar item is an object of personal significance to place on our circle altar. This item will represent your energy, witness your experience, and connect the energy of home with our circle. At the end of the gathering, you'll take it back with you, carrying the blessings of the space. This may be a photograph, letter, trinket, jewelry, crystal, book or any other object to which you feel connected.

Please take a moment to become familiar with our Agreements for Circle. By sitting in circle, we as a group acknowledge and accept the agreements which keep our space sacred and safe. We will review these in each circle.

There is plenty of parking available at the Old School House (242 Belair Road, Lower Mitcham). Please enter the hall at the rear of the building, entry via Grange Road. We aim for a 7pm start so that we respect the timeframe of the circle, please aim to arrive 5 minutes early.
