  • Over-reliance on relationships: You may rely heavily on your relationships for your self-worth and validation.
  • Fear of intimacy: You may have a fear of getting too close to others emotionally and physically.

What are attachment styles?

Attachment styles are patterns of behavior that develop in early childhood and continue to shape our relationships throughout our lives. Learning about attachment styles can help you to understand your own behaviors and tendencies in relationships and improve your ability to communicate, build trust, and form healthy relationships. It can also provide insight into the behaviors and tendencies of others, which can lead to more empathetic and compassionate interactions.

According to Psychologist Mary Ainsworth’s research are three primary attachment styles: secure, anxious, and avoidant.
