WOTM is excited to bring the community a special Women & Girls Self-Defence Event, proudly presented in collaboration with Cobram Roar and Shokotan Karate Club Numurkah.

A heartfelt thank you to Cobram Roar for their generous donation to WOTM. Your support is helping us create opportunities for women and girls to build confidence, learn valuable skills and feel empowered in their everyday lives.

WHY LEARN SELF-DEFENCE?

Self-defence is about so much more than physical techniques. It’s about building confidence, awareness and the ability to respond calmly in situations where you may feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Through self-defence training, women and girls can learn to:

Build confidence – develop belief in your own abilities and feel more capable in challenging situations.

Increase awareness – learn to recognise your surroundings, identify potential risks and trust your instincts.

Develop calmness under pressure – practise responding to stressful situations rather than freezing or panicking.

Strengthen boundaries – learn that your personal space matters and become more confident using your voice and communicating boundaries.

Learn practical skills – gain simple, practical techniques that can help you create space, protect yourself and seek safety.

Build resilience – develop mental and physical resilience while learning in a supportive environment.

Connect with your community – train alongside other women and girls in a positive, encouraging and supportive space.

Most importantly, self-defence is about empowerment, not fear. You don't need to be strong, fit or experienced to participate. These sessions are designed to help you feel more confident in your own ability to recognise situations, make decisions and take action when needed.

TWO SESSIONS AVAILABLE

4:00pm – 5:30pm
6:00pm – 7:30pm

Each session is 1.5 hours.

Women & girls of all experience levels are welcome!

Come along, learn something new, challenge yourself, build confidence and have some fun in a safe and supportive environment.
