Women Weaving Stories - Gemma Sisia
Description
Women Weaving Stories is an intimate community gathering hosted at Womenspace Sandgate, a beautiful, independent women's space built on diversity, kindness and respect, and run entirely by volunteers.
On Friday evening, 20 March 2026, we welcome Gemma Sisia, Founding Director of The School of St Jude in Tanzania, and alumni Faith Samwel to share their story in person.
Together, Gemma and Faith will take you on a journey through the school's growth, the big wins, the challenges, and the undeniable results of a model built on one powerful belief: that education can fight poverty.
The School of St Jude gives 1,800 students free, quality education. One hundred percent of those students are on full scholarships. Over 400 graduates are supported into higher education every year. Ninety-eight percent of the school's 300+ staff are Tanzanian.
This is your chance to hear these stories directly in a warm, welcoming space where every woman is invited to connect, reflect, and be part of something that matters.
Stay on for snacks, a Q&A, and the chance to have a real conversation with Gemma after the presentation. These moments are rare and not to be missed.
