Following on from the extremely popular Mates, Meals and Mental Health held in Penneshaw in October, Wellbeing SA, Breakthrough Foundation and the Country SA PHN are very happy to bring this event to you with support from Junction (Kangaroo Island Community Centre) and the Kangaroo Island Council. This evening is an opportunity for women from the island to come together as one and learn tips and strategies for your toolbox on how to look after YOU.

Nadine De Bono is a former journalist and current advisor to the Premier's Office. She is an accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer and MC with a passion for mental health advocacy and research - taking on the Larapinta trail in 2021 to raise money for Breakthrough. Nadine was the previous Media and Communication Manager for Breakthrough mental Health Research Foundation.

Cecilia Ronson will not define her comedy style anytime soon; she can’t even pick her favourite ice-cream flavour. All she knows is that a mix of, anxiety, fourth child syndrome and a steady admin job, make up for a big personality and the need to make people laugh. Also, apparently women are the only ones who find her funny (thanks little bro), so this is a pretty good gig! Cecilia also is a member of the team at Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation.

Rachel Soderstrom is a fitness professional and yoga teacher with a background in creative arts who is passionate about starting conversations regarding our mental health and using physical movement to support it.

Bel Ryan is fascinated by people, their stories, and how our experiences impact our lives. As a leading art therapist, counsellor, lecturer and director of Ignite Art Therapies, Bel is passionate about the power of using creativity to problem-solve, reflect, inspire and motivate. Through her work and lived experiences, Bel has developed invaluable insights into grief, stress, vicarious trauma and mental health. She is driven by her belief in “keeping things real’ and is passionate about fostering self-care for individuals as well as within teams and organisations.

Leesa Scanlan is a mental health advocate and guest public speaker. Producer and host of podcast HighTide LowTide. Just your every day girl with depression and anxiety sharing her story in the hopes of making a difference for others on their own journey.
