WomenzShed DIY Workshop Series - 'The Real Deal' (in association with BirdCare Aotearoa)
Event description
WOMENZSHED ONSITE DIY WORKSHOP - THE REAL DEAL
with NIKKI MOSS
Saturday 15th April
BirdCare Aotearoa, the largest bird rescue charity in NZ, have a wide range of projects they need to improve their facilities at their busy centre in Green Bay, Auckland.
This is an amazing opportunity to learn DIY and woodworking tool skills in a real situation. There is so much to learn about using power tools on location and being creative within limitations of the tools and materials you have to hand. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, this learning opportunity is unique.
What can you learn?
- Practice at working out solutions to common DIY situations
- Learn skills which can be applied to projects at home
- Use a range of tools in a supportive environment
- Ask questions about how to do similar jobs at home
- Improve facilities at the bird hospital so that more birds can be cared for
The current project involves building a deck and putting together kitset Shed. This workshop aims to complete the installation of joists and add flooring.
