ABOUT THE WEEK

Wonda gives children space and time to connect with who they are and what they love. In this space its ok to be messy, creative, loud, quiet, fast, slow, active, still, playful, introverted, proud, and completely themselves. There may be mistakes and fall outs which are great learning moments, we will support children to find ways of resolution and understanding without making anyone 'wrong'. In essence this camp is about each person being themselves, and discovering that they’re pretty good at it.

Each day unfolds from what the group needs: some days that means a morning in the park, a puppet making session, a two day treasure hunt - with each team making clues and the other finding them. We could break out into some drama games and start to improv into a new realm, creating a play in a day.

For others they might want quiet time, painting, a board game, cards and stories read in the shade. Children can move between activities freely, or stay with one thing until they’re ready to leave it. We have facilitators to be with children in their flow, some times to get immersed with them and other to step back and keep a safe eye but allow them the space to explore and imagine with their friends without taking over.

Our morning circle is essential for structuring and planning the day, sharing information and plans, facilitators will bring new activities daily, we may also be continue where we left off with a project or game the day before, or children may also come with an idea for a plan.

Week 1: Is a 3 day week as some schools are still running - daily tickets are available for week one.

All places are weekly for week 2

We encourage weekly tickets, giving more time for individuals and the group to find its rhythm. Time to build real friendships, and become part of something that feels like theirs.

LOCATION:

We will be based in Palmer Park reading, we have found a nice peaceful area in the field behind the stadium to base our camp, with trees for shade, plenty of flat grass to play and picnic on. This is a wondering camp, so we will move around, we will adventure all around the park in our group, bring our equipment with us. Located in the park is a library, a café and great playgrounds, all of these we will visit, hang out in, and there may be times where we prefer to hang out at our base camp. However our pick up and drop will be from the same place each day.

EXACT MEETING point will be outside palmer park leisure centre in the smaller playground in front of it. This will be our drop off and pick up point. Free parking is in the leisure centre car park. There are also public toilets in the leisure centre.

We will be close by so will be able to come and pick up anyone who is unsure where to go.
