Event description
Join us in the beautiful South Burnett for the 2024 Wondai Gravel & Gourmet weekend 13/14 July 2024.
The event will incorporate the "Taste the Trail" which is a leisurely Saturday morning culinary bike ride along the South Burnett Rail Trail, from Kingaroy to Wondai, stopping at townships along the way to sample refreshing tastes of the South Burnett Region. The Taste the Trail is organised by the South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association.
The Taste the Trail will conclude with lunch at the beautifully restored Wondai Hotel 1903.
Following lunch we will check into the hotel and spend the afternoon exploring Wondai, visiting the Art Gallery and other local attractions.
Dinner (not included) and accommodation (included) will be at the Wondai Hotel 1903. Sunday morning will start with a leisurely breakfast after which we will return to Kingaroy via the quiet country and gravel roads in the region with a morning tea stop at Memerambi Springs. The ride will be approximately 40km with around 600m of elevation. Our experienced ride leaders will lead the ride and our support vehicle will be with us throughout. The ride will finish at Kingaroy at the Carrolee Hotel for a refreshing drink.
Your "Wondai Gravel & Gourmet" registration includes:
- Taste the Trail entry (including lunch at the Wondai Hotel 1903)
- Luggage transfers from Kingaroy to Wondai and Wondai to Kingaroy
- Vehicle support throughout Taste the Trail so you can leave in any purchases in the vehicle while you ride
