Event description

INTRODUCTION TO CABINETRY

with MATHILDE POLMARD

Due to popular demand, we've created the Level II cabinetry workshop which we've designed to build on learning from our 'Introduction to Cabinetry' (Level 1) series. AND as this will be our first time running this series, we are offering tickets with almost 40% off the normal cost!

Designed to broaden the range of design and cabinetry techniques, you will learn how to make a wall hanging cabinet with the choice of practicing of a range of skills including:

  • measuring and cutting sheet materials accurately
  • joining techniques (butt, mitre or biscuits)
  • attaching cabinet doors
  • fixing shelves
  • French cleats

Building upon your tool skills such as track/plunge and jig saw use plus machinery such as table and drop saws, this workshop offers the opportunity to grow your skill levels using a nail gun, biscuit joiner and router.

As with all of our classes, you will learn in a supportive and friendly women-only environment at our unrivalled extensive central Auckland workshop.

Based on the recommended materials (see below) we offer a cutting list to follow or you are welcome to bring your own ideas.

Note: This workshop works best for women who have previous experience especially with drop saws and table saws.  If you're a complete novice, we recommend you start your woodworking journey by doing our Introduction to the Wood Workshop series or Introduction to Woodwork first to gain confidence in working with power-tools and machinery.

All materials except timber/plywood are included in the cost of this workshop. See recommended suppliers below for timber/plywood.
