Woodblock Printing Workshop with Cecilia Heffer

In this workshop, textile print lecturer Cecilia Heffer will share the art of woodblock printing. Students will have a chance to explore natural dyes on fabric and paper to prepare a ground to print on. The workshop will cover how a woodblock is designed and carved and how to print with archival woodblocks. Water-based pigment pastes will be used both on fabric and paper. Students can explore up to four colour blocks in both traditional and experimental ways.

Open to all levels of practice, beginners very welcome.
