Event description

In this workshop, participants will learn to use the bandsaw, scroll saw, drill press, and hand tools to make a beautiful pair of earrings out of hardwood. You will be able to choose from a variety of hardwood species and decide on the shape and design of your earrings. Earrings will be sanded to perfection and finished with Danish oil. This class is open to all! No woodworking experience required.

Come enjoy our shop and tools, make friends, and learn a new skill.

The Workshop is a female owned community makerspace that provides access to tools and education for New Orleanians of all skill sets. We seek to eliminate barriers to entry in the fields of design and fabrication through access, education, and community building.

At Community Workshop NOLA, we proudly serve women, BIPOC individuals, the queer community, and allies. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. To maintain this culture, we have shop monitors who will be available two days a week to address any concerns and encourage open dialogue. We are dedicated to upholding our values and reserve the right to end membership if they are not respected. Together, we can create a welcoming space for everyone.
