WoodSolutions Presents: Albert Park Pit Building Site Tour

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

This unique tour of the Building site at Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Albert Park Pit Building (APPB) redevelopment is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the structure coming to life.

This major redevelopment is currently underway, and will ensure that Melbourne can continue to host this world-class sporting event through to 2037.  The redevelopment will see the construction of a two-storey, engineered mass-timber building with the largest timber roof structure, in area, constructed in Australia.  This will truly be an iconic building for Melbourne which will be seen around the world, and one that will reinforce Melbourne’s status as the sporting capital of Australia.

The event is for Architects and Developers interested in learning more about timber construction and mass timber projects. There are a limited number of spaces available due to safety and final registrations will be notified one week from the event.

This WoodSolutions event will commence with a site safety briefing on arrival, followed by presentations by ICON, Woods Bagot, AECOM, ASH and Standstruct, with a site walk to conclude the event.  Attendees are then welcomed to a post-Executive Tour networking event with finger food provided at Middle Park Hotel (102 Canterbury Rd, Middle Park) attendees to purchase drinks.

Due to this being an active construction site, the site tour will be limited to ensure attendees’ safety during the site walk.

Time: 3:00pm to 4:30pm

Please register your expression of interest.  Successful registrants will be notified on Thursday 10th September before the event. Please note there is a maximum of 30 attendees as this is a working building site.

Access Terms and Conditions:

• Strictly no social media posting or sharing of content (including photos); therefore, NO photography or other recordings during the site visit are permitted.

• Attendees must bring steel-capped boots for the site walk; otherwise, access to the site will not be permitted.

• High-vis vests and hard hats can be provided if required on the day – please indicate if required.

The project is a partnership between Development Victoria, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Parks Victoria, the State Sport Centres Trust and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR). Development Victoria is delivering the project on behalf of DJSIR.
