Word of the Year Happy Hour

Come get your creative juices flowing with a glass of wine to sip and savor while you create your Word of the Year!
Play with the medium of encaustics (hot bees wax, damar varnish and pigments) to create an expressive and meaningful piece of art for your own Word of the Year.

Encaustic is a wonderful medium for collage and embedding small and lighter objects into the wax. Feel free to bring to class any images or small objects that represent your word. You can even print out your word prior in different fonts and sizes to see which one you would like to use. I will bring lots of colorful wax and some magazines to look through for inspiration, tools for marking, scraping, and some stencils as well. Let me know if you have any questions!
