Event description
Presented by Addison Road Community Organisation for Youth Week 2021, Word on the Street is a series of workshops followed by a SLAM, presented by experienced writers and performers from across Sydney.

The ALL-AGES SLAM on Friday 16th will be hosted by poet and music biographer Mark Mordue, with the best young performer being judged by Sara Saleh from Bankstown Poetry Slam. A generous book voucher from Newtown booksellers Better Read Than Dead is the prize, and funds raised at the SLAM will be shared with Twenty10s youth support service.
Workshops are $20 per person or free if referred by a youth service. Slam participation and attendance is free.
The workshop presenters are:
Tuesday: Ifeoma Obeigbu - winner of the 2018 Poetry Slam program Real Talk
Wednesday: Kween G - Inner West hip hop icon, activist and arts organiser
