Event description

Wordcraft Women

A writing and storytelling circle

An 8 week Term remembering your story and bringing your voice forward as living legacy.

This is a women’s writing and storytelling circle.

Here, we understand the alchemy of finding the intersection of our languages, craft and sharing story. Wordcraft understands the power of your voice as your soul's fingerprint, no one can tell yours like you.

Throughout the Term, our focus will be:

  • Reconnecting with your inner writer and trusting your storyteller.

  • Experimenting and tapping back into FUN, lightness and play.

  • How to use the senses to craft emotive story.

  • How to embody and perform, really show not just tell.

This is for the woman who:

  • Loves to write but struggles to make time and find community.

  • Knows you have stories worth telling but haven't figured out how.

  • Aches to find your voice and speak up.

  • is SICK of saying, 'one day' and is ready for 'day one.'

We welcome all levels of experience and encourage imperfection.

We use spoken word poetry (aka free verse poetry ) as our medium because there are no rules. It is the most accessible written art form.

The only rule is - it must be your truth.

It is entirely subjective and gifts you full license to weave technique, style and tone into a piece of art that meets you wherever you are on your writing journey.

What this space is NOT:

  • A transformative/ spiritual/ healing container.

  • Group Therapy.

What this space IS:

  • Community and connection centred.

  • A playful, experimental learning environment.

Please note that to participate in engagement in all long-term Wordcraft offerings, each client must sign a service agreement which will be discussed individually with Wren.

Wordcraft has a privacy policy and terms and conditions within our practice as we highly respect all elements of both yours and Wren's energetic investment.

However, we understand that financial capacity varies. Wordcraft trusts you to choose what feels fair and aligned for your circumstances—no proof is needed.

Payment plans are also available. If even $350 feels out of reach or you'd like to set up a plan, please don’t hesitate to get in touch:

All payment plans are subject to individual application and will be confirmed in your service agreement.

Scholarships are subject to availability and can be inquired upon application and Wordcraft is registered as NDIS support.

Facilitated by Wren Rapture - she/her

Wren is a national award-winning poet, highly commissioned spoken word artist and literary judge. She has over a decade of teaching experience both in classrooms and containers - her teachings have impacted tens of thousands of people and her devotion to her practice shines through.

Wordcraft is the collective through which she shares the power of our stories and celebrates our humanity, raw and in process. We've been creating storytelling spaces since 2019 - our open mic is hosted monthly at Wesley Anne in Northcote. Tickets are available now.

In 2024, she delivered her debut Tedx talk on cancel culture and in 2023, was commissioned by the State Library of Victoria as one of the first Australian poets ever to be published in braille in the (In)Visible Libraries initiative. Her show, ‘Wog Girl’ debuted with the State Library earlier that year. She performed at the Melbourne Recital Centre after an 8 year manifestation and one of her life dreams is to sell out Hamer Hall with a show she hasn’t written yet. Follow along to be there when it comes true @wordcraft.wren
