Join us for an evening of words and music with Nobel Laureate in Literature J.M. Coetzee and celebrated writer and musician Anna Goldsworthy, hosted by the J.M. Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice at Adelaide University. All are welcome.

J.M. Coetzee is Nobel Laureate in Literature and twice winner of the Booker Prize. His most recent books include Un Mal Salvaje with Fabián Martínez Sicardi (2026), Speaking in Tongues with Mariana Dimópulos (2025), El vigilante de sala / The Museum Guard (2024), and The Pole and Other Stories (2022). He is Research Professor in the School of Humanities at Adelaide University.

Anna Goldsworthy is a celebrated writer, pianist, and a founding member of the Seraphim Trio. She is the author of two memoirs, Piano Lessons (2009) and Welcome to Your New Life (2013), and the novel Melting Moments (2020), as well as, most recently,the Quarterly essay titled ‘The God We Made: The threat and promise of artificial intelligence’ (2026). She is Dean of the Elder Conservatorium of Music and School of Performing Arts.
