WORDS: Come wax poetic with us
Description
Come wax poetic with us!
Join us for an evening of poetry, prose, and storytelling as WORDS, a community-based literary series and open mic dedicated to amplifying historically marginalized voices, comes to Raven’s Gallery in Echo Park.
Produced and hosted by writers Erica Blumfield and Jasmine Vallejo-Love, WORDS brings together emerging and established voices in a welcoming space for creative expression and connection.
The evening will feature three guest readers, readings by Erica and Jasmine, and an open mic where audience members are invited to share their own work.
Featured artists: Christian “Soulstuf” Perfas (11x poetry slam champion), J. Saravia (author of “Euthanasia”), and Benin Lemus (2026 CA Arts Council Emerging Artist Fellow).
An open mic will follow, where community members are invited to read their work (3-4 minutes max).
We’re thrilled to partner with Raven’s Gallery and grateful for their generosity in opening their doors to our literary community. All proceeds from the evening’s $10 suggested donation will support the gallery and literary series and their continued commitment to art and creative expression.
