Description
Welcome back to Words Worth You and a Happy New Year to all!
We are still the same space for expression, active listening, poetry, music, stories, fun, reflection, silliness, sincerity and connection. And with the new year we have our sights set to reach, expand and share this wonderful community being built of compassion and communication.
If you havent been to one of our events, we features both open mic performances and endeavour on new collaborative creations made by all attending our events -
Here is the poem our audience created at our last session:
Perhaps I can untie the cloth from my eyes for just a moment
Rest the muddy claws from digging,
Let my weary head rest 'ere awhile
Until the slashing regret comes calling.
And the squirrel comes chasing
It's tail forming trails
Firey shapes breaking the sky
As Maya Angelou's lines wander through my mind
"We dare be brave"
I wonder where they may lead us
Down a path where comfort leaves us,
Until trust calls to us once again to go on.
And we go. Not fast not slow. But somewhere in between.
Through these teaming cloths, claws, lines,
Heads, regrets and squirrels - till the fiery shapes stop breaking and instead heal, then lead us home.
Chosen line: "Fiery shapes breaking the sky"
As always there will be food and refreshments, and hopefully a lot of joy! The ticket price goes straight to the venue and the running costs of our events.
