*CANCELLED* Work That Reconnects
Holdfast Bay Community Centre - Susan Grace Benny Building

Event description
This event has been cancelled. How do we live with active hope and meaningful lives in these times of global conflict, social injustices, environmental breakdown and an uncertain future? As we are touched by the suffering of the world, it is natural to feel overwhelm, frustration, despair, fear, anger, paralysis, powerlessness or isolation. Yet we are also alive at a time of great possibility, co-creating communities with compassion, reverence, respect and interconnectedness. The Work That Reconnects, developed by ecophilosopher Joanna Macy, is also known as active hope, deep ecology and deep time, ecological grief work or eco-resilience. It draws on ancient and new teachings, spirituality, nature connection, and creative and dynamic group work. This immersive session will take us through the spiral of The Work That Reconnects – through gratitude, honouring our pain for the world, seeing with new eyes and going forth. This is an opportunity to reflect and share in community, building more resilience and possibility. We will connect with our unique gifts, and cultivate our commitment to co-creating a better world. Facilitated by Sophie from EcoSoul Experiences, we will reconnect with all that we love about our living planet, and explore our inner callings to feel empowered to act on behalf of and for the Earth. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee are provided. Please meet at the Susan Grace Benny Building on King George Avenue, near the corner with King St. This event is hosted by City of Holdfast Bay and supported by the Cities of Onkaparinga, Marion and Mitcham as part of the Resilient South partnership. |
