Work that Reconnects Weekend Retreat

Price $100 – $600 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

We are excited to offer an extended experience of the Work that Reconnects in the beautiful setting of Wild Mountains Environmental Education Centre on Yugambeh Country (the Scenic Rim). The Work that Reconnects is a supportive framework to reawaken our connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth. Developed by deep ecologist, activist and scholar Joanna Macy, the Work that Reconnects is a way to understand and support people’s feelings and empower them in response to climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and other environmental and social crises.

WtR provides an opportunity to understand and express our concerns and our love for the Earth and our societies, and to (re)discover and give shape to our hopes. Through our remembering, we are able to go forth with new eyes and renewed purpose to continue contributing to a Life Sustaining Society.

This is a participatory weekend that involves solo processes, as well as conversational and group processes. Emma and Em also bring their love of the natural world into the workshop by integrating nature connection experiences into the Work that Reconnects - Wild Mountains and surrounds will provide us with abundant opportunities to do this!

Participants are asked to attend the full experience from Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon. All meals are included in the price, from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. Accommodation is in shared permanent A-frame tents, BYO tent or limited spaces in 'Bruce's Shed'.

Places are limited to 20 participants only; a $100 deposit will secure your place. Earlybird prices are available until July 6th.

Two work-trade places are available at $280 for the weekend. Contact us if you are interested in this option.

For enquiries, please email Emma at wiseeartheducation@gmail.com.

TESTIMONIALS - from our 2023 weekend workshop

This workshop was a beautiful way to meet like-minded people and find collective strength and refreshment in our collaborative efforts to grapple with the unfolding polycrisis. The facilitators are sensitive and passionate with the work. - Michael Burgess, Gestalt Therapist

Emma and Em make a great team. I felt supported to explore tricky ideas and challenging emotions in a ‘safe container’. I walk away feeling deeper connection to my community and the natural world around me.
 - Lizz Hills, Educator, Wild Mountains

A powerful embodied weekend process that was skillfully facilitated with love by two experienced and wonderful women.
 - Lody Levy, Psychotherapist

Emma and Em held the space gently and expertly, to help participants explore some big feelings in safety, creating an atmosphere of trust, respect and deep connection, with others and the natural world around us. I highly recommend the course to anyone who is in need of release, rest, reassurance and reconnection, with all that matters. It has helped me recharge and reset, enabling me to continue with the important work that needs to be done. - Kirsty Klose
